India's Minister of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has banned 55 more apps including the most popular Battle Royale Game Garena Free Fire.
Free Fire was India's #1 Mobile Battle Royale Game by both Downloads and Revenue in 2021, so it's a huge blow for the fans.
This is the 5th batch of apps that has been banned by MeitY since June 2020.
Along with Free Fire, a total of 55 more apps has been banned since then, primarily from the Chinese Publishers due to Nations Security Concerns.
However, It's still unclear why Garena Free Fire is on the list since it is not a Chinese Game, it is from a Singapore-based Company "Garena".
The Government has not disclosed any reason for Free Fire's Ban at the moment.
However, there's an interesting thing that only the Standard Version of Free Fire is banned and the Enhanced version is still available on the Play Store.
Both were removed from the App Store but it's unclear if Max will be removed from the play store in the future.
There are high chances that the Free Fire Max version will also got removed from the Play Store since both the versions shares the same server.
